Nathan Martin, the fastest American-born Black marathoner, is poised to make his mark at the upcoming New York City Marathon, fueling excitement and inspiration among Black runners across the nation. "The energy in the Black community is beyond insane," Martin remarked in a recent interview, expressing the overwhelming support he has received from fellow Black runners. His record-breaking performance at the Marathon Project in Chandler, Arizona, in 2020, where he clocked an impressive 2:11:05, solidified his position as a leading figure in the running world.
Martin's journey to the top has been marked by perseverance and dedication. Growing up in Jackson, Michigan, he discovered his passion for running in middle school, driven by an innate desire to compete and push himself to his limits.
